  • Removed oil pressure sender, inspected engine oil pressure with a manual gauge – 800rpm = 0psi -1500rpm = 5 psi -3000rpm = 30 psi 4000rpm = 50psi Next step is remove lower oil pan and inspect pick-up tube. If no sludge or obstruction is found, Oil pump replacement will be necessary to fix problem

  • We inspected the vehicle for possible water leakage areas. We opened the sunroof and tested the drains. The drain on the driver's side did not drain very well. We cleaned the drain out and retested. The drain is working well now. There was a lot of mud and goop in the drain tube. The passenger drain was a little dirty also, so we cleaned this also. The leak seems to be gone now.

  • On our courtesy inspection we found the following issues: – The rear brakes are at 20% and will need to be done soon – The battery died a few times while we had the vehicle. We charged it and performed a test that passed. The battery may be on it's way to failing. If the vehicle turns over slowly when you start it after a few days, we should install a new battery – The "Service 4WD" light is on and should be diagnosed.
  • We scanned the computer and found the following code: P1631 – Theft Deterrent Start Enable Signal Not Correct Based on the description of the previous issues and the work that had been done, we tried to access the security control module to address the current code and could not. We checked the power and ground circuits and they are good at this time. We decided to install the old PCM and test. We found the vehicle started and ran OK, but had a misfire. We continued to diagnose and found the ignition coil on cylinder #1 is faulty. We also found a large wiring harness that has been chewed through by mice and needs repair. At this time we recommend replacing the spark plugs, at least 1 ignition coil and repairing the wiring bundle.
  • Remove and replace spark plugs and 1 coil
  • Repair damaged wiring bundle

  • On our courtesy inspection we found the following issues: – We scanned and found the following codes stored in the engine control module: – P1289 FORD – Cylinder Head Temperature Sensor Signal Greater Than Self-Test Range – P128A FORD – Cylinder Head Temperature Sensor Circuit Intermittent/Erratic We did not perform any diagnostics on this code during this visit, but recommend that. – The accessory drive belt is starting to show signs of age and should be replaced soon – The engine air filter is a little dirty and could be replaced – The brake fluid is a little dark and should be flushed – The power steering fluid is dark and should be flushed – The valve cover gasket it leaking and should be replaced
  • We removed all parts necessary to access the spark plugs and replaced them with OE replacements. We noticed that there is oil leaking into the spark plug wells from the valve cover gasket. We recommend replacing the valve cover gasket. This is the most likely cause of a misfire on cylinder #4 previously.

  • We received the vehicle and the battery was dead. We added a jump box and the vehicle started fine. We then performed a battery test and it failed due to insufficient charge. We charged the battery and it passed a test. We tested for a draw and there was none. We then let the vehicle sit overnight and then tested the battery. The battery test again passed. The vehicle started fine also. At this time we have no recommendations.
